The Iceman be a collector's item? The film, based on the Anthony Bruno book, was all set to go until the inscrutable James Franco dropped out. So now Milennium will have to replace Jame's name with Chris Evans since, according to Nikki Finke today, Evans just signed a deal to replace Franco on the Ariel Vromen drama.
The Iceman, which centers on Richard Kuklinki, played by Michael Shannon (Agent Van Alden in
Boardwalk Empire) a contract killer for the mob, is dark and creepy territory for Captain America! Evans is going to play Kuklinki's mentor, Robert Pronge. Maggie Gyllenhaall, Ray Liotta, David Schwimmer are also on board. Millennium Films/Nu Image is starting production on the picture next month. Evan is currently reprising his Captain America role in the Joss Whedon-directed
The Avengers.
