The Descendants: The Los Angeles Film Critics name it Best Pic

The Descendants and Alexander Payne got top honors from the L.A. Film Critics today. 

The Descendants also made the AFI top ten list for the year. The honorees, including six films based on books, were:
BRIDESMAIDS, THE DESCENDANTS, THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, THE HELP, HUGO, J. EDGAR, MIDNIGHT IN PARIS, MONEY BALL, THE TREE OF LIFE and WAR HORSE.
The Artist and the Harry Potter series of films received special awards.
