Since some readers are curious and want to read the opening of certain books, I wanted to let people know that there seem to be quite a few books available as google e books AND that you can read quite a few pages for free in their online sample. Here's the link for Savages which a fair number of people seem interested in.
Considering the first chapter of Savages consists of two words, and those two words are Fuck you, I might just not be hip or cool enough to truly enjoy this book. Not that I never use 4-letter words myself. I'm just not accustomed to seeing novels start that way. It kind of makes me laugh because recently I was reading someone's facebook and they wanted to know what your favorite opening lines of a novel were. I'm not sure how "Fuck you" ranks with "It was the best of times. It was the worst of times." which was winning the last time I checked in!
