Maybe I’ll finally get around to reading the book! It’s been sitting on my shelf for a couple of years, ever since the first wave of nordic crime novels mania swept through. Morten Tyldum—the Oscar-nominated director of The Imitation Game starring Benedict Cumberbatch—directed the original Norwegian film version of Jo Nesbo’s Headhunters and now he wants to do it again, this time in English.
He hasn’t decided whether to make Headhunters as a feature film or a series which is everyone's choice du jour because more and more of us are just staying home, streaming and binging. He hasn’t hired a writer yet, but expect it to pop up on your big or little screen sometime in 2017.
Did you read the book? It’s a comic crime novel about a corporate recruiter who moonlights as an art thief. Let’s watch the trailer for the 2012 original and keep your eyes out for the artistically chiseled features of Game of Thrones Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Aksel Hennie played the lead character, Roger Brown, in the original. Who would you cast to play Brown, the recruiter cum art thief, clearly in way over his head?
