The Girl on the Train trailer featuring Kanye West

I shared the first trailer for The Girl on the Train last week but we really didn’t take a minute to talk about the music. For this week’s Sunday Slacker video we’re taking another look. A lot of you will have recognized Kanye West “Heartless”. The slowed down version of West’s hit (below) was scored by the Canadian band Blitz//Berlin to perfect effect. Thinking of Paula Hawkin’s thriller, reverse the sexes and the lyrics of Heartless seem especially apt, and definitely creepy.

The coldest story ever told
Somewhere far along this road, he lost his soul to a woman so heartless

The Girl on the Train stars Emily Blunt, Haley Bennett, Rebecca Ferguson, Allison Janney, Justin Theroux, Luke Evans, Edgar Ramirez and Lisa Kudrow. Directed by Tate Taylor (The Help) from a script adaptation that will no doubt be controversial by Erin Cressida Wilson, The Girl on the Train is set for an October 7th release.
