Eva Green on Playing 'A Scary Mary Poppins' in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children #book2movies

Another Slacker Sunday and we’re continuing the focus on the fierce females in fall’s upcoming films based on books. Which just happens to be the title of the featurette below for Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. Slated for release on September 30th the film—based on the book by Ransom Riggs—stars Eva Green as the titular Miss P. Green, the Penny Dreadful favorite is currently filming Euphoria, costarring and produced by Alicia Vikander another of this year’s powerhouse women to watch. Euphoria is both written and directed by a woman, a countrywoman of Vikander’s, Lisa Langeth.

It’s becoming more and more clear, that this year anyway, Hollywood has heard the cry for more women in film—in front of and behind the camera—and listened for a change.

We have a trio of videos today. Following the ‘Fierce Female’ featurette, a couple of minutes of Eva Green talking about the challenge of playing ‘a scary Mary Poppins’ who is also part bird!

Following that, a just-released clip about the loop, where we learn how to reset time. In Groundhogs Day, that daily replay was hell, but Miss Peregrine knows how to take a great day, and live it over and over again. Not a bad trick!
