James Gray’s The Lost City of Z is set to make its debut on April 14th. The true story is based on David Grann’s nonfiction book about a turn of the century British explorer who discovers traces of an unknown civilization in the Amazon. Ironically, Amazon Studios is behind the release, and today they’ve released the first clip from the film.
Explorer Percy Fawcett is played by Charlie Hunnam with Sienna Miller as his wife, Robert Pattinson as his aide de camp and Tom Holland as Fawcett’s son. Holland just earned BAFTA’s Rising Star award so he’s definitely an actor to watch.
The clip is a set up for the adventure to follow, Fawcett comes to be obsessed with finding the Lost City of Z, eventually disappearing into the jungle in 1925, never to be seen again.
Something to look forward to?
