If you know the log line for Everything Everything based on the YA book by Nicola Yoon, you know everything you need to understand the French-dubbed trailer even if you don’t speak French. Even without subtitles.
‘A teenager who's lived a sheltered life because she's allergic to everything, falls for the boy who moves in next door.
Pretty simple to understand, n’cest pas? If not, you can watch the same trailer in english below. I don’t suppose either the author or the filmmakers were thinking of older women like me when they did their thing but it sounds and looks quite affecting. Neither of the young leads, lovely Amandla Sternberg—who you probably recognize as Rue in The Hunger Games—as Maddy, and Nick Robinson (Jurassic World) as the adorable and adoring Olly is a big star with big name draw (ie Elle Fanning or Hailee Steinfeld) so I assume the novel is so popular with its demo that the producers feel Yoon’s readers will drive ticket sales. Watching the trailer though, the duo does seem to have wonderful chemistry. If I was seventeen again I’d have my tushy in the seat when Everything Everything opens on May 19th. How about you?
Have you read Everything Everything? How about in French?
