When reader Valerie commented on my Dunkirk/Zudcoote post recently that Dunkirk itself was part of Nazi-occupied rather than Vichy-occupied France, I got to thinking that The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is set in Guernsey, one of the British Channel Islands that was also occupied by the Nazis for five long years during WWII.

Then I got to thinking about the cast as the movie is due out sometime next year, and that got me thinking about Matthew Goode who is playing Sidney Stark, Juliet's publisher in the movie. If you read the book, you know who he is, and likely you share my frustration with his character's relationship with Juliet!

I looked up Matthew Goode but so far no photos of the Downton Abbey heartthrob from the Guernsey movie set. But I did find this which hearkens back to The Imitation Game and as we're having a heatwave here in L.A., and I'm feeling especially lacking in energy, I thought it made a fine Sunday Slacker for you. It's via Buzzfeed and in light of floods, and fires and politics, it's just a bit of fluff for you to enjoy!

In case you hadn't heard, this is Matthew Goode.

And he is majestic.

First of all, he stole our hearts in Chasing Liberty alongside Mandy Moore.

Yeah Mandy, we're pretty jealous as hell.

And Leap Year with Amy Adams.

As if you didn't have more reason to want to be her.

But he's also starring alongside Mr. Cumberbatch in The Imitation Game

So here are the 17 other reasons why Matthew Goode is just TOO Good.

1. That time he read a book.

He always knew that smart was the new sexy.

He could read my pages anytime he wanted...

2. That time he wore a beanie and looked #flawless.

He wasn't so sure at first, but then was like "Yeah, I do look pretty good in this beanie."

3. That time when you wanted to BE that wine glass.
